- This is the Intramuros branch on Calle Real, not the main Instituto Cervantes office on Ayala Avenue in Makati, and people regularly go to the wrong one. Opening hours for the Exhibit Gallery are not published clearly, so call or message the Instituto Cervantes Facebook page before making the trip. Entry is free. It closes on 19 September, so a September visit needs to happen in the first two weeks and a bit.
About this event
The Spanish photographer García de Marina works with ordinary objects, a spoon, a match, a zip, and stages them until each one turns into a small argument about how thinking feels. The prints are dry, precise and black and white, and they reward standing still rather than scrolling past. The gallery sits inside the Plaza San Luis complex on Calle Real, which makes it an easy stop on a walk through the old streets.
